A vacation for him and his wife and his 15-year-old’s college tuition — that’s how Winston-Salem’s Jeffrey Gilley said he plans to spend his $1 million winning from playing a scratch-off lottery game that he purchased at the Wilco on Peters Creek Parkway on Sept 4.
Gilley, 42, who works for PBM Graphics in Greensboro, said he was in the area on a work-related trip when he stopped in to buy a drink.
“My knees buckled,” Gilley said. “I ran out of the store, locked myself in the car and signed the back of the ticket.”
Gilley, who plans to keep his job fixing printing machines, said he intends to take his wife on a vacation, pay for his daughter’s college degree and “enjoy life and his family.”
Gilley played the “$130 Million Blockbuster” scratch-off game, a game he’s only played a few times.
“That was the sixth ticket that I’ve bought,” he said.
