Local Lotto Winner Comes Forward

A Bakersfield man has claimed a quarter-million-dollar lottery prize and thanked God for the windfall, according to a California Lottery spokesman. The man asked state officials to not release his name.

“I just feel so blessed, like God blessed me,” the man told Lottery officals, according to a news release.

$10M lotto winner gets prison in fatal SoCal crash

A man who won $10 million in a California lottery game has been sentenced to more than 17 years in prison for a drunken-driving crash that killed three people.

Thomas Turnour had pleaded guilty to gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and causing injury while driving intoxicated.
